Submit a Chromebook Webcam Video in Canvas |
From time to time you may be asked to submit a video of yourself in a Canvas assignment. Use the instructions below to do this from a Chromebook.
Find and open your webcam using the launcher icon in the lower left corner of your Chromebook. If you cannot see the Camera option visible, type "Camera" in the search.
When the camera is open, choose Video and maximize it if you would like (using the square in the upper right corner) or leave it as is. Make sure your microphone is enabled. Start the video with the red dot button. The camera will record you and your immediate surroundings.
When your video is complete, stop the recording with the white square in the red circle button and close the camera. It will automatically save in your temporary Chromebook files.
Go to your Canvas assignment. Choose the option to Upload or Choose a file to upload. If your assignment does not have this option, please reach out to your teacher.
In the Chromebook files, choose the Camera folder, click on the mp4 file of your webcam video, and choose Open.
Finally, confirm that your file is in the Canvas assignment showing the green check. If you want to delete this file and upload a different one, simply click the trash can icon and upload a new one. Once you have the file you want to submit, choose Submit Assignment.
