Setting Notifications in the Observer Canvas Account |
Set notifications in your Canvas account to send emails to the account you are using as the Login for the Observer account. Follow the instructions below and learn more!
Please note! If you would like to receive NO notifications, please set all notifications to be turned off.
In the Canvas account, click on the Account icon and then Notifications.
If you are observing more than one student, it is highly recommended that you turn on the option to include the name of the student in notifications.
You can set notifications at the Account level which will apply to all courses. After you have set it at the Account level, you can move on to individual courses and choose more specific notifications.
You can choose to enable OR turn off notifications for any individual course.
You can choose the frequency of each notification.
- Daily notifications will be delivered around 6pm.
- Weekly notifications will be delivered Saturday between 10am and 12pm
Hover over each type of notification to see exactly what information will be sent to you if you choose to be notified. Some notifications are only available to instructors and admin. You will be able to see this when you hover your cursor over the words.
If you would like to be notified when a Canvas message is sent to your student, use the notifications under Conversations. This option is only available at the Account level.
For the Grading notification, you can toggle on or off if you would like to include the score in the notification you receive.
**The email notifications in your inbox may contain links to resources in your student's Canvas course. Those links will only work if you are logged in to your Canvas Observer account in the same browser window where you are accessing your email inbox OR on the same smartphone device where you are accessing the email links.**
