Read&Write/Screenshot Reader: How to Download |
Only students who have been pre-approved to use this tool will need these instructions.
Screenshot Reader is an extension in Google Chrome that works with Read&Write. It needs to be downloaded, along with Read&Write. This function is included on the toolbar. It can also be opened and used outside of Read&Write. It provides another means for students to select what they need to have read aloud.
Follow the instructions below. If you prefer to see a video, scroll to the end of this article.
1. In the student's Chrome browser, go to the Chrome Web Store.
2. Type "screenshot reader" in the search field in the web store.
3. Click on the purple birdie icon for Screenshot Reader:
4. Choose Add to Chrome and then click on Add extension.
5. Note the pop-up that appears showing that the extension has been added:
6. Pin the extension to the top of your Chrome browser window with the push-pin icon. First, click on the puzzle piece at the top right. Scroll down until you see Screenshot Reader. Click on the push-pin icon beside it.
