Adding or Removing a GCA Google Profile in Chrome on a Personal Computer *These instructions are NOT for a GCA-issued Chromebook or a personal Chromebook |
All GCA students must be logged in to a Chrome browser with their GCA Google profile synced. In a synced account on a Chrome browser, the Champion Portal page is the default opening tab. On a personal computer (not a Chromebook) follow the instructions below to add your GCA Google profile in Chrome or remove a Google profile in Chrome.
Adding a Google profile in Chrome on a personal computer
From the Chrome browser that already has a personal Google profile, click the profile icon to the right of the URL field and choose the gear icon.
Choose the option to Add a Google profile
Click on Sign in and enter the email address and password for the GCA Student Google account.
Do not choose to Create an account
Enter your GCA Google account email here.
Do not use the “Forgot Password” option.
Enter the password of your GCA Google profile. If you need a password reset, always choose to submit a request in the Student & Family Help Center for any password reset.
Choose Next and Turn on sync
Always choose to turn on sync by clicking Yes, I’m in when asked. This is the only way you will see the GCA Champion Portal page, and the Chrome extensions automatically provided for all students.
For best results, pin the Chrome browser that has the GCA Google profile logged in. Right-click on the Chrome icon for the GCA Google profile and choose Pin to taskbar. This allows you to use a Chrome browser with ONLY your GCA profile on it.
Removing a Google profile in Chrome on a personal computer
From the Chrome browser that already has a GCA Google profile logged in, click the profile icon to the right of the URL field and choose the gear icon.
Before you remove your Google profile, be sure the sync has been on.
Find the 3 dots in the upper left corner of the Google profile you're removing. Choose Delete.
Confirm that you will delete this Google profile. Don't worry! If the sync has been turned on before you delete, all your bookmarks will be there again when you log in.
