How to use Google Vids within Google Drive |
A new feature in Google Drive allows you to use Google Vids to create videos and share them with teachers at GCA or submit them to Canvas assignments.
Check out this video overview of how to use Google Vids and try it out for your purposes!
Start by navigating to the Champion Portal. Click on Google Drive.
Choose +NEW on the top left of the screen to see the options available for Google Vids
Options for creating will display in a pop-up.
For purposes where you may want to share your screen to show what is going on from your view, you can use the Record option. The tab opens with a prompt to allow your microphone and options to include your camera, screen, and audio when you record.
A pop up to record your screen will show a preview of what you want to share.
You are now recording your view and able to use your microphone to narrate what you see on the screen. Once you are done, press the red record button again to stop your recording.
The Vid will now be available in your Drive and will open in a new tab. You can take the steps to rename your video and have the option to Share it with a teacher as well or submit it directly in a Canvas assignment that allows access to your Google Drive.
Note: Students are blocked from sharing Vids with other students.
