Once each month during the school year, our Community Partnerships Manager, Tonette, sends out a list of scheduled events for the next month, giving you plenty of time to register for the events you would like to attend!
Where can I find the monthly message about event registration?
- On or about the 20th of each month, adults and students at GCA will receive an email with event information for the following month.
- Adults will find this email in their personal email inbox
- Students will find this email in both their GCA Gmail inbox AND their Canvas inbox. Students can find their Gmail inbox on the Champion Portal page.
How do I register?
- Using the links provided in the email message, choose your events and sign up!
- Important tips about registration!
- Virtual Field Trips: both students and adults may submit the registration
- In-Person Events: only adults may submit the registration
- Enter all your information correctly. If you enter an incorrect student ID or email address, you may not receive the information sent to field trip attendees and miss your opportunity!
Virtual Events
Once I am registered for a virtual event, where will I find the event links and reminders?
- After you are registered, all event information, links, and reminders will be sent to:
- The adult's email address listed on the registration form.
- The student's GCA email address, not the Canvas message inbox.
- The student can find their Gmail inbox from the Student Portal (Champion Portal page) by clicking on the Gmail button.
How will I join a virtual event hosted in Class?
- Right before the event, the host will send an email with a specific link to join that Class event.
- Students will receive this one-time link in their GCA Gmail inbox.
- Parents will receive this one-time link in the inbox of the email they used to register for the event.
- It is best to join Class events from a computer browser for the best experience.
- These instructions will show you what to look for in your email with the one-time link.
In-Person Events
Once I am registered for an in-person event, what can I expect?
- The event host will send an email to the adult email address listed on the registration form requesting the family to confirm their attendance.
- A few days prior to the event, the event host will send details of the event to the adult email address listed on the registration form. This email is sent to those who confirmed their registration. These details may include:
- Location address
- Directions
- Parking information
- Activities
- And more...
