Returning Families:
During the Re-Registration time window, you will have the opportunity to reserve your seat with GCA for the following school year. The guidelines below can assist you in completing the Application.
**The purpose of these guidelines is to help streamline your experience completing the Enrollment Application. We recommend that you follow along here as you have the Application open and view the FAQs for each section.**
What to know and how to be prepared for your GCA Enrollment Application.
For best practice, we recommend setting aside enough time to complete the Enrollment Application in one sitting and upload your prepared documents at that time.
- Collect all your required enrollment documents that need to be uploaded. Click here for a complete list.
- Documents can be uploaded as .pdf .jpg or .png files. GCA does not accept .HEIC files. HEIC files are from photos taken on a smartphone. Take a moment to make sure all your documentation is ready as a .pdf .jpg or .png file.
- The person completing this application will be considered the Primary Legal Guardian with GCA and will be fiscally responsible for any loaner equipment assigned to your student. With that in mind, please make sure you are the right person to take on that role before you begin. The full name and email address throughout the application must be associated with this Primary Legal Guardian.
- Each additional adult listed in your application must have a unique email address and phone number for best communication practices between your family and GCA.
- Please be mindful of correct spelling, capitalization, and punctuation. Names that appear on birth certificates must be an exact match to that document.
- All dates on the application are entered as MM/DD/YYYY
- Your Application Number will always be visible in the upper right corner while you are completing it. Please write this number down and reference it when you communicate with GCA Enrollment or staff.
- Any required fields in the Application will have a red asterisk. These fields cannot be skipped.
There are five(5) sections of the GCA Enrollment Application to complete before submission. Below you can find FAQs that relate to each section.
Student's Primary Household
-
If I type in my address, why do I need to also upload a Proof of Residence?
- Students enrolled at GCA must have a primary residence in the state of Georgia. The Proof of Residence document will confirm this.
-
Whose phone number should I enter here?
- The number of the Primary Legal Guardian who is completing this application.
-
Can I use a cell phone number here?
- You may enter a cell phone number or a landline number as long as it is the correct phone number for the Primary Legal Guardian completing this application.
Parent/Guardian
-
Why do I see the option to change the Legal Guardian name here?
- This option is offered for returning families only. If you are a new family enrolling, please disregard and continue completing the information that follows.
-
Who is the Legal Guardian being referred to in this first section?
- You will see the name of the Primary Legal Guardian here who began this application. All references to "this person" or "enrolling legal guardian" are referring to the one completing the application. This person is considered the Primary Legal Guardian for the student.
- Be sure to upload the photo ID for the Primary Legal Guardian.
-
May I use the same phone number I entered earlier?
- Yes, if it is the number for the type listed (i.e. cell, work, etc.) Please enter all phone numbers related to the Primary Legal Guardian who is completing this application.
-
Please make sure you accurately type in your email address. All communications about this application will be sent to the email address of the Primary Legal Guardian completing this form.
- Follow the prompts for what kind of email communications you would like to receive through Infinite Campus after the student is enrolled.
-
Why is the form asking for another parent or guardian?
- This is your opportunity to add another parent or Legal Guardain for the student. This secondary Legal Guardian will not be considered the Primary Legal Guardian. To determine who is considered a Legal Guardian, click here.
-
May I use the same contact information as I did for the Primary Legal Guardian?
- No. Each adult individual listed on the Application must have a unique email address and phone number.
- Be sure to upload the photo ID for the secondary Legal Guardian.
Emergency Contacts
-
Who can be listed here?
- If your student will have a Learning Coach that is not a part of your household, this is the place to add their information. Please do not add any of the Legal Guardians you already listed in this Application. You may also add anyone you would like to add as an Emergency Contact.
-
Can I use the same contact information as I did for someone else?
- No. Each adult individual listed on the Application must have a unique email address and phone number.
Other Household Members
-
Who can be listed here?
- In this section, add all non-GCA students in your household along with all non-parental adults living in the home. For example, list siblings who are attending a different school, grandparents or relatives residing at this address, etc. You will only need to add the first and last name, the birthdate, and the gender here.
-
Why am I asked to include the others in my household?
- GCA uses the standard Meal Benefits form (aka Family Income Form) to qualify for important and beneficial federal funding. That form uses the total number of individuals in the household as listed in this application.
Student
-
How do I add a new student?
-
Click the New Student option at the bottom.
- If you are enrolling a student with GCA that has no other siblings enrolled, you will need the Lotterease application ID received from GCA when you confirmed your seat.
- If you are enrolling a student that has as sibling already enrolled, please provide the Student ID of the sibling at GCA.
-
Click the New Student option at the bottom.
-
Why can I choose either "Registering" and "Not Registering" with regards to my student?
- If you are re-registering as a family that is already enrolled with GCA in 24-25, you may choose Not Registering for any student in your household that will not be returning or enrolling again with GCA.
- If you are a new family, you will choose Registering.
- Continue through each question and don't forget to upload your prepared documents where they are required. Remember! GCA does not accept .HEIC files. HEIC files are from photos taken on a smartphone.

Tips about Relationships - Learning Coach
- Carefully read all the requirements for being a Learning Coach. These expectations are consistent throughout the school year.
- If the relationship of the Learning Coach is both a relative or guardian and Learning Coach, be sure to choose that correct option in the dropdown.
-
Tips about Relationships - Parent/Guardians
- Carefully read the details about listing Guardians here. A contact sequence is required for each listed Guardian. The Guardian listed as number 1 should be the same person filling out this application.
-
Tips about Relationships - Emergency Contacts
- At least one Emergency Contact must be included here. Since you correctly chose the number 1 (and possibly also 2) contact sequence for the Guardian(s), the Emergency Contact can only choose a contact sequence further down the list. Please do not make the Emergency Contact a number 1 in the contact sequence.
-
Tips about Relationships - Other Household Members
- If you would like to designate another adult in your household as an additional Learning Coach, you may use the dropdown for their relationship here to include "...and Learning Coach".
- The sections for Health Services may require you to upload documentation. Please have all of your documentation ready as .pdf .jpg or .png files. GCA does not accept .HEIC files. HEIC files are from photos taken on a smartphone.
-
Why do I need to acknowledge the need for my student to have daily access to high-speed, reliable, and consistent internet?
- GCA is a virtual school and all live Class sessions and curriculum programs require a strong internet connection. Without a strong connection, your student may experience interruptions to their live Classes and educational programs.
-
Can I wait to decide if I want a GCA issued loaner Chromebook?
- Yes, but we highly recommend the use of a GCA issued loaner Chromebook for all students. Using a GCA issued loaner Chromebook allows for robust tech support and a secure environment.
- There is no financial qualification required to request a GCA loaner Chromebook.
-
Why do I need to list my Internet Service Provider?
- This information assists GCA when providing technical support for your student.
- Complete all the check boxes for Release Agreements, type in your first and last name of your signature, then sign and submit your application.
