Pursuit of Excellence (PEP) Tutoring Program |
What is the Pursuit of Excellence Tutoring Program?
- PEP Tutoring is a personalized program designed to assist students who are struggling academically.
How is this program different from NetTutor?
- Selected GCA staff members are the tutors in the program.
- Students in the PEP Tutoring program are referred and meet certain criteria as shown below.
- Once the referral is completed and a tutor is identified, the student is placed with the tutor.
- The tutor coordinates and develops a plan that is specifically tailored for the student.
- Tutoring continues as long as is needed to ensure academic success.
- Students may self-refer to the program or may be referred by a parent, teacher, their FEL (Family Engagement Liaison), or other GCA staff member.
Students referred to the Pursuit of Excellence Tutoring Program must meet the following criteria.
- The student's course average must be below 85% in the course for which tutoring is requested.
- The student is struggling with content, comprehension, or understanding how to apply what they are learning to homework and not with meeting deadlines.
- The student must already be in contact with the teacher regarding the struggles they're experiencing.
- The student attends Class regularly (or watches recordings regularly, if allowed the option).
To refer a student who meets the criteria above, complete this ticket in the Student & Family Help Center to receive the referral form and learn more about next steps.
